Originally we had much grander plans for this kitchen remodel. However we took a step back and had a good look at our life. This is not our forever home. We don't want to out price the neighborhood in which we live.
Once we realized that we just wanted to make the kitchen more usable and nicer looking, our decision making process got much easier. :) Well, except for the microwave.
Other than the kitchen tile for the counters everything else will be purchased locally or locally at the big box stores or . We are planning on finding ceramic tile for the floor, hopefully less than $2 a square foot. (Something dirt colored - we have 3 kids, a dog, and I don't clean the floors daily). Subway tile back splash for the walls from the not to be named hardware store we frequent more than we want. Lights will be purchased from a local lighting store - they are giving us a break for not having to deal with a contractor. :)
Hopefully after the remodel the vinatge Hamilton Beach 3 head milkshake mixer will look stunning on my new counters rather than lost in the dark dusty corner.
